The Joy of Reading

One of our newest holiday traditions is doing a Reading Countdown to Christmas. I get 24 books from the library and wrap them up. Each night one of the kids picks a book to read before bed. When we first started this about 2 years ago, I had to read all of the books to the kids. But now that they all know how to read, they are reading to each other. Bailey is especially happy that she can now read the books on her own. Even Kendall who doesn't like to read out loud will participate. So here's to 14 more days of joy in the evenings!!
